The Driveline & Hydraulics Testing Manager is responsible for leading the validation of driveline and hydraulic components for large Ag tractor platforms, with some scope of CE and Crop Harvesting platforms. The DL & Hyd Testing Manager coordinates a group of test engineers and test technicians at the Racine Lakeside testing facility, manages the cost center budget, defines the test plans for the various projects, and leads the human and technical resources to meet the project timings. The individual provides leadership to orchestrate sophisticated test programs by regularly collaborating with leadership and other PV managers to leverage global company assets and facilities.

Responsibilities
    Lead a group of ~25 Driveline and Hydraulics test engineers and technicians to ensure the delivered end-to-end systems meet customer needs and the program objectives
  • Prepare, update, and communicate the overall project testing plan, budget & schedule
  • Identify resources, facilities, secure budget, and coordinate efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan
  • Based on available resources (budget / FTE / equipment) maintain a resource plan to accomplish the product validation activities
  • Work with other global testing locations or external test suppliers to outsource tests when local facilities are not available.
  • Maintain and communicate project status, issues, timing status, and alert management to significant issues or roadblocks
  • Communicate data with others effectively; supervise the writing and approve formal, technical test reports.
  • Coordinate the creation of new test procedures and updates to existing.
  • Manage cost center project and indirect budgets working with the Driveline project manager
  • Participate in the development of facilities improvement plans and provide recommendations for capital requests for new lab equipment and facilities in support of CNH strategic business plan.
  • Responsible for team talent planning to identify proficiency, knowledge, and skill gaps
  • Implement staffing plan to recruit resources to fill gaps
  • Proactively define and develop test / validation automation and efficiency improvement
  • Actively engage employees in helping manage performance and development while fostering an environment that is conducive to productivity and individual growth
  • Provide safe working environment by ensuring proper safety training, supporting site safety committee, and implementing regular work safety improvements.

The annual salary for this role is $115,500 - $169,400 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or other technical field)
  • A minimum of 7 years of product development / engineering experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid understanding of mechanical/hydraulic/electrical systems
  • 1 or more years of experience leading/managing teams would be beneficial
  • Direct experience working with driveline and/or hydraulic component and system development
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Management is a plus
  • Resource management experience with the ability to delegate responsibilities and to match assignments/tasks to abilities, experience and capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building successful teams.
  • Experience in leading change, improvement and organizational development
  • Previous program management experience highly desired.
  • Proficiency in completion of multiple medium to large projects from conception to product release utilizing the Global Product Development Process.
